THE POTTERY WORKSHOP
With 2 large gas pottery kilns,
 large electric pottery  kilns
&  small electric pottery kilns,
we are always firing freshly made
pottery to sell from our Gallery.
Each piece of pottery we make, is all hand crafted & individually unique.
We use a wide variety of pottery clay's including earthenware, stoneware, porcelain, terracotta, raku with trachite
& hand building pottery clay's.
All have their own wonderful characteristic properties.
By using a wide range of clay's we can create a wonderful range
of individually unique pottery.
The Pottery Workshop also
has a large area that is devoted
to hand built pottery.
All
pottery that is not made using a pottery wheel is made here.
The old bush buildings, wall hangings, pottery animals, swag men, functional pottery decorated with Australian native flora & fauna, pottery flowers, terracotta herb tags, fairy houses,
whimsical & fun designs, scented clay's
& so many other wonderful
 pottery delights.
The workshop also has
4 pottery wheels.
We prefer to make all our pottery individually by hand,
choosing not to use moulds.

I have always loved to have
my hands in the dirt.....
either creating something in clay or
potting around in the garden!

I have been a professional
potter since 1985.
I began selling my pottery to many pottery shops around the
Sydney region, where I lived.
From The Rocks in the heart of Sydney
to Galleries & Pottery Shops in
the Blue Mountains & Berrima.
My pottery always has a unique Australian element to it.
Because of this, my pottery has always been admired by locals &
international tourists alike.
I was asked to put on the first exhibition of my pottery at a prime location in Sydney when I was 15.
After moving to Hervey Bay,
on Queensland's Fraser Coast,
I continued to supply many
pottery shops & Galleries.
I also supplied many of
Australia's major Tourist Attractions.
Since 1991 I have been making pottery
for our Art & Craft Gallery here at Takura, Hervey Bay.
                 Surrounded by
                             beautiful gardens
                            & the Australian Bush,
                          inspiration & new creative
                                       ideas come easily.

Pottery Possums are always popular.
Hanging down on a rope
with outstretched arms
or a Mum with  a baby on her back.
We make possums from
several different clay's
& with different oxide finishes.
They look very cute just hanging around.
